Contemporary fantasy romance inspired by Scottish folklore
I live in central Scotland, sandwiched between the borderlands and the highlands. This landscape is rich with the evidence of thousands of years of human occupation. You can take a walk and come across features that predate our written history, from carved rocks to burial mounds to ancient dwellings.
Moving through time, you can follow the line of the Antonine Wall and explore the remains from the Roman occupation of what is now southern Scotland. Then there are the castles, keeps and kirks. We can see the influence of the movement of people from Scandinavia, Ireland and south of the border. Woven through all of this are the beliefs, cares and concerns of our ancestors.
This site allows me to share some of my writing inspired by living in a land where so many different layers of history, folklore and landscape exist.
